• iEngineCheck is now Available in the App Store

    iec_icon_largeHello everyone!

How are you? Long time that I have not written here, and I have a very good reason for that!

You probably remember my journey towards developing my firs iPhone app, well after struggling, and taking the web-app way, I can tell you that I finally did it, a native iPhone app. It’s the same one that i’ve told you about earlier – iEngineCheck. In this app you can select your car from a list of manufacturers and models, and see a list of the lights you can find on your car’s dashboard, with it’s name and description. You also have the ability to send it VIA mail or SMS.

You can find the application in the App Store here: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/ienginecheck/id523066206?ls=1&mt=8

So please feel free to download and enjoy it, and tell me what you think about it.

  • Rovio will pay to the best Angry Birds players

The Finnish company, Rovio, the inventor of the most popular iPhone application Angry Birds,  unveiled tonight a model of  paying to players that will achieve the best results.

The company announced that starting next game version, apparently, ”Angry Birds Star Wars”  in conjunction with the production company of George Lucas, players with the best results will receive payment of one dollar per one hundred thousand points in the game.

    Angry-Birds-Space

Tonight, as noted, the company unveiled a new payment model: Winners will receive a special payment, dollars issued for April’s fools :)

  • Finally MacBook!

    Hey there!

I wanted to let you know, that I’ve completed my Apple transformation: iPhone 3gs, iPad 2, and finally: MacBook!

    macbook white 13

Few days ago I’ve purchased a second hand White MacBook, 13.3″ screen. The main reason I bought it, is to be able to comfortably develop iPhone applications in Xcode (You can read in my apps development page why I couldn’t do it on my Windows PC).

So if this is what you also want to do, here a few things you’ll have to do in order to prepare your Mac to iPhon (and iPad) apps development:

    1. Buy a Mac (obviously).
    2. Optional: Re-install it’s operating system. I did it cause I wanted a clean computer to work with.
    3. Optional: Using Bootcamp install a new partition on your Mac, to have Windows operating system. I did it to ease the transformation from Windows to Mac OS.
    4. Upgrade the Mac OS to at least 10.6. Mine is Snow Leopard.
    5. Install the app-store application on your mac. Just search “appstore” on Google, and click on the “open in Mac” link.
    6. From app-store download Xcode (You’ll of course need an Apple ID, but I guess this is not a problem).

That’s it. This is where I’m at, and the next step is actually start developing. I’ll keep you updated.

    Cheers!
